Tritech Sprayers and why PaintTech recommends them!

We were approached by Aristospray who are the UK’s exclusive importers of American designed, engineered and manufactured TriTech Airless spray machines after the Painting & Decorating show at the end of last year, they wanted us to trial one of their machines to see our thoughts. We have been spraying for over 20 years and have worked hard promoting ourselves to small and medium sizes house builders/developers as decorating contractors who predominantly spray as we have developed a painting system that reduces the time on site dramatically whilst increasing the quality of the work at the same time!

Our aim is to educate the UK construction industry on the benefits of spraying to increase the use of spray machines on site. We are constantly talking to painters working on small residential projects and larger building sites on how they can increase profits and reduce the time they spend on jobs BUT increase the quality and finish of their work too. We created and run Spraying Makes Sense Facebook Group to bring together experienced sprayers and newbies who are looking for guidance and support whilst starting to spray.

Quality of Service from Aristospray

Michael from Aristospray came onto one of our projects to run through how their T5 machine worked & how to break it down to maintain the day to day parts or clear common blockages. Our job pretty much was to “TRY AND BREAK IT!” Well, we have given it a really hard time spraying thousands of litres through this small machine but it really has done exactly what Aristospray and TriTech said it would – it has been pretty much flawless. Downtime has been minimal, no maintenance has been required and we have run various water based products through it without any problems at all.

In short, this machine and TriTech are a welcome addition to the UK airless spray market. The USA are the market leaders in spray technology so it only seems apt that TriTech would produce such a great machine, but more to the point they are so confident they are prepared to give a lifetime warranty on the motor and drive train plus a 2 year packing warranty which significantly reduces the overall lifetime costs. We have recently spoken also to Phil at Airless pro who has said that whilst he has been dealing with Tritech he hasn’t yet had a single one in for repair which shows how solid these machines are!

UPDATE – Well, we finally broke the machine!! BUT it was only the pressure release valve and was replaced within 15 minutes and back to normal.. The only downside was that the part wasn’t in stock with our supplier as they had never had to replace one before!

We were approached by Cathy Littlejohn of Hare & Humphreys to price a project they were working on. Their clients were converting an old public house into a stunning residential property with subterranean floors to put up for sale once completed. Initially we were only asked to paint 1 mist coat and 1 top coat to all walls and ceilings leaving their own contractors to finish everything else off, however after a couple of site meetings Cathy could see the benefits of PaintTech completing ALL the internal painting because of the time saving alone.
If the project had been more ready when we started then we could have finished it in even less time as we could have been more productive! We still completed this house however in 3 months including all snagging, remedial works plus last minute changes and this house was huge! It was spread over 5 floors with 2 staircases, 2 lifts, Master Bedroom suite with 2 en-suites & 2 Dressing rooms, 6 further bedrooms mostly with en-suites, Family Bathroom, Drawing Room, Study, large Sitting/Dining/Kitchen area, utility, 2 further cinema, WC’s, gym, plant rooms, swimming pool, sauna and changing rooms!! It also had an adjoining 1 en-suite bedroom & 1 living room mews house with a 3 floor spiral staircase which we completed at the same time too.. Hare & Humphreys provided all the paint from Mylands and throughout the project there were various different colours on walls, ceilings and woodwork to contend with so at times it was a logistical challenge but was a pleasure to work on and looked amazing when it was finished & dressed for sale!

We use efficient systems and products to be as productive as we can be 100% of the time!

BNI Westerham Networking & our experience

Networking = Confidence & Clarity

We were asked to write a guest blog for the BNI Westerham new website launch. Each month a member is going to write about their experience of BNI, why they got involved in a chapter and how it has helped their business.

Here is my experience thus far!

As a member of BNI for 3 years the main benefits for me and my company are being involved in a group local to ourselves; people you can relate to and see regularly.

BNI has built Confidence! The thought of Networking in a room of 20-30 people at the beginning made me incredibly nervous as you are not used to talking about yourself or your business, but as time goes by the more you get used to it! With help and guidance from the group and training available you grow yourself and your business at the same time! I will always remember V+C=P which means visibility + credibility = profitability which really does work.

The “60 Second Slot” is the next daunting task..! It was a fumble at first but by listening to others each week talking about their businesses you start to get ideas, you break down and analyse your business – Who are we – What do we want to do – What is our Unique Selling Point – Who do want to do Business with? This is where we gained Clarity! We now know who we are and what we are trying to achieve so now we have to build on that to get there..

BNI is all about Givers Gain and the transparency of doing business with fellow members; this is what I really love about it. BNI makes you think about other members, their businesses and how you could help them grow too. If they give business to you then you will want to go out and get business for them! I now have a network from various marketplaces to draw upon when we need to; from plumbers & electricians to accountants, financial planners and acupuncture plus much more!

We have grown so much over the 3 years and have met and worked with some fantastic businesses. We have the confidence and clarity to go into the marketplace and deliver using our strengths and benefits to keep us going. When we started we were a small local decorating company working on small residential projects but with the help of BNI and fellow members we have grown into a bigger niche business in the Construction Industry working on new builds and renovations such as this one in Putney which came indirectly from a BNI referral! We were working on a project where we were recommended by a BNI member when another builder working in the same road came in and saw our work – we have worked on 3 projects for them this year alone!  We now specialise in Spray Painting which we class as “the modern approach to decorating! We believe that the finish is far more superior to traditional decorating.

We have translated what we have learned into our marketing strategy too. Because I find networking so rewarding I now use Social Media Platforms to build online networks and link with other businesses I want to work with. We have a constant stream of content to use with updates on current projects plus focus on educating potential clients of the benefits of using PaintTech and this has really helped to get our brand out there! We use twitter for promoting ourselves on #kenthour #BNIhour and #surreyhour as well as using LinkedIn,Google+  and Facebook. We have also set up a Facebook group ( for fellow sprayers using our knowledge and systems to help others overcome problems we faced when we started!

The referral round is always and interesting point in the meeting, here you can see who has done business with who and for how much. You have the confidence to recommend members as the trust has already been built. These referrals really are hot leads that turn into profit. Each week we get a chance to say “Thank you for the Money” and last year alone our chapter gave business to the value of £1,825,669.87 with 3119 referrals given! This is proof that it really does work.

PaintTech sprays to create the wow factor!

PictureWe have been working with Rosemary Ridgeway of April Hamilton Architectural and Interior Designers on various projects over the last 15 years and Rosemary has watched us evolve and change over this time.
We were approached to price for the decoration of a large family home in South London that was being renovated to a high specification. Rosemary wanted to use PaintTech mainly because of the Finish we achieve by using Spray Application.

Rosemary sent us plans, brief, design ideas and colours for us to start putting pricing together. We then carried out a site visit and met the main contractor to answer any questions before submitting a breakdown of prices, spec and timings for the project.

These kind of projects are organic because of their bespoke nature and therefore very often change along the way. Any changes are always discussed, priced and agreed whilst working on site to keep things moving.

As we got closer to the start date of this project it turned out that Speed was also going to be a major factor as the clients had a fixed moving date and the project was running over time. It was decided that we focus on the principle rooms in the house and the main contractors own decorating team completed all other remaining areas. Because of the timings, all trades had to work around one another so the schedule and timings were important.

We used spray application for the majority of the project including re painting existing fitted furniture, and hand painted some areas; including the candy stripe wall, circles and wipe clean wall in the playroom. All paints were chosen and specified by Rosemary in Designer Paints i.e Farrow & Ball and Little Green.

New Building Contractor – New Project


BNI Networking has bought in a diverse range of referrals for us. A referral from Nolan Sawyer of Pro Heating & Plumbing lead to our latest project in Herne Hill, London.This is a project run by Simon Dunning of Mono Ltd ( who are Building Contractors. Mono Ltd have created some fantastic extensions using glass and modern designs. Their website shows some of their work.Simon works with architects and private clients to provide solutions for south, west and central London clients. With an emphasis on detail and finish, they have an excellent reputation for providing a personal and meticulously planned service to clients establishing a list of repeat business and referrals. their ethos is to work collaboratively with clients, architects and suppliers to deliver an exceptional quality build on time and budget and with minimum disruption to all.

They are specialists in refurbishment of private residences and period properties including Extensions, basement conversions, loft conversions, complete refurbishments and general services.


We have been asked to take over all of the decorating work within the house, including fitted furniture and now the new hand painted kitchen.
The majority of this project is new plaster and we should be able to spray 95% of this project. We have been able to put our new sanding equipment to the test and this has proved to be a valuable investment as it has saved time on labour and materials.We will be posting pictures as the project progresses and will add the completed project to the website once we have finished it.
