This was a kitchen that was installed about 15 years ago in a new build property in Meopham, Kent.  Clients loved the design and layout but felt that the kitchen units were too dark and wanted the room to look brighter.

This was another project where we took the units to the workshop to prep, prime and finish the backs of the doors and then returned to site to re-fit them.

The doors and parts that could not be removed were painted when we returned to site. Once these areas were prepared and primed we started to re-fit the doors then sprayed the entire kitchen with 2 coats of top coat. All of the paints used are manufactured for painting kitchens so are hard wearing and durable.

The colour that we used on this project was a copy of Tidy White by Valspar.

The photos show a huge transformation from dark wood with an off white colour, clients are over the moon and love it!

Case Study – Romford, Essex https://www.painttech-uk.com/case-study-romford-essex/ Sat, 14 Nov 2020 14:43:24 +0000 https://www.painttech-uk.com/?p=907

This is a kitchen we painted for a lovely couple in Romford, Essex. This Kitchen is a real family space and is the hub of the house. Clients didn’t want to replace the kitchen as they liked the layout but really didn’t like the wood effect. This was completed at the start of lockdown 1 so we took as much of the kitchen away as possible to minimise the amount of time we spent in their home.

For doors and parts that could not be removed as they were fixed we painted those on site. We usually spray the fixed parts and the front of the kitchen doors to keep the colour and finish consistant and this kitchen was no exception. The doors to the back side of the island and a few dummy doors were also fixed so handles could no be removed. For these doors we masked off the handles and sprayed them whilst we did the rest.

Colours on this project were Little Green French Grey Mid on the main outer units and Farrow & Ball Plummet on the Island.

Case Study – Hassocks, West Sussex https://www.painttech-uk.com/case-study-hassocks-west-sussex/ Fri, 13 Nov 2020 17:03:47 +0000 https://www.painttech-uk.com/?p=861

This was a solid wooden kitchen that clients inherited when they bought the house a few years ago. They didnt want to replace it as it they loved the layout and design and knew that putting in a similar solid kitchen would be really expensive, so we were asked to paint it.

We love that clients went bold with the colour choices as it really does stand out. This is a great family kitchen that will really stand the test of time as we use products that are designed and developed for kitchens and furniture.

With our systems we aim to be in your house as little as possible to limit the disruption so some work is done on and off site.

Colours used here are Farrow & Ball Pigeon on the main units and Downpipe on the Island which do so well together.

Case Study – Chistlehurst, Kent https://www.painttech-uk.com/nick-chistlehurst/ Fri, 03 Jul 2020 14:49:51 +0000 http://ptdecorators.socialelevator.website/HTDOCS/?p=134

This was the 2nd project we worked on for a developer in Chislehurst, Kent. Plot 2 was the first one we completed and Plot 1 was the 2nd which was about 18 months later.

Both were luxury 5 bedroom new build projects build over 3 floors, with a games room in the loft too!

Plot 1, the 2nd project was spray plastered by Steve and the team at Currier Plastering and once finished we followed shortly afterwards to paint it.

There are quite a few benefits of spray plaster over traditional plaster such as thistle multi finish but the biggest one, especially for contractors is that it dries in around 24 hours so its ready to be sanded and painted far quicker.

This project was completed using Tikkurila paints on walls, ceilings and woodwork.

Colours in Plot 1 were: white ceilings and woodwork, doors were pre-finished in Plot 2 but painted white in Plot 1. Walls were mostly a copy of Farrow & Ball Cornforth White, the Kitchen was Strong White, Lounge in Stiffkey Blue, Bedroom 2 in Cromarty and a feature wall in the master in Stiffkey blue.

We spray painted the kitchen and utility room in Plot 1 as clients didn’t like the colour. We will show this in another case study.

3 rooms were wallpapered including the downstairs WC, Family Room and Bedroom 3. With the workload we had we didn’t have time to do it so called in the expertise of Rhys of McWilliams Decorating Contractors.

Case Study – Chelsfield, Kent https://www.painttech-uk.com/chelsfield/ Fri, 03 Jul 2020 14:49:38 +0000 http://ptdecorators.socialelevator.website/HTDOCS/?p=133

This was a referral from Bartlett Joinery who product some amazing joinery work, not only on this project but others that we have worked on. This property was built by Mortimer Construction and built to a fantastic standard. The client was really hands on in terms of choosing colours, managing the timeframes and all the trades on site which really is not an easy task.

We worked on this project in stages meaning that we were working on the 1st floor whilst the ground floor was being finished by the builders then moved down to complete the ground floor once they were done. On a project of this size it is still efficient to work like this.

Our systems and the way we work means that clients can see the colours go on the walls after we have mist coated.  This works well as clients can see what the colour will look like on a larger area and if they are not happy with the colour this is easy to change before ceilings and woodwork are finished.

All ceilings and woodwork on this project were sprayed in white and then walls were mostly a copy of Farrow & Ball Shaded White.

The doors are stunning and were hand made by Bartlett Joinery with brass inlays. These were then sprayed by us with a lacquer to complete the look. We also varnished the handrail on the staircase but this was done by hand as it was one of the last things to go in.

Clients had purchased a sink unit for the downstairs WC but didn’t like the colour so asked us if we were able to paint it. Not a problem, this was painted in Caparol Haftprimer PU Satin in black then the detail handpainted with Ardenbrite gold and then antiqued which clients loved.

If you have a project like this that you would like us to give you a quote for then get in touch. All we need are some project plans and we can give you a budget quote.

This is a project that we completed in Chelwood Gate, West Sussex for clients APM Walker Construction  The main shell of this property had already been built by a previous developer so when clients purchased the house they had the interior and landscaping to finish.

This is a stunning house and a great project to work on. APM Walker are great with communication and programming so their projects are always a pleasure to work on.

The clients are very private so unfortunately a lot of the photos we are not able to use but have  a look at the photos below to give you an idea of the scale.

This entire project was completed using Tikkurila paints.

Walls are a combination of colours including copies of Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone, Worsted, Ammonite, Cornforth White, Peignoir, Skylight, Pale Powder and Wimborne White.  We also used Little Green Dark Lead in the Study.

Ceilings, woodwork and Doors were all painted in  copy of Farrow & Ball Strong White
